Freedom to Operate Search
Know Your Risk Before You Launch
An attorney-led patent risk review designed to identify whether existing patents may threaten your product or service. Before you invest. Before you launch. Before it is too late.
Scope of the Review
What the FTO Search Covers
A budget-level FTO review provides practical, attorney-led guidance focused on risk awareness without the cost of a formal written legal opinion. Four deliverables. One flat fee.
We begin with a focused review of a single company product or service, with particular attention to one to three defined mechanical features that are central to how the product works. The scope is carefully limited to the features most likely to carry patent risk.
We conduct a targeted patent search to identify issued patents and published applications that could potentially cover your defined product features. The emphasis is on patents that present realistic commercial risk, not an exhaustive catalog of all remotely related references.
For each patent identified as potentially relevant, we analyze all independent claims to assess whether they could read on your product as described. This focuses on whether key claim elements appear present or absent, and where meaningful differences exist.
You receive a verbal walkthrough and where appropriate a brief written summary explaining the level of risk for each patent reviewed. We highlight higher-risk patents, lower-risk patents, and areas where design or operational changes may reduce exposure.
Transparent Flat Fee Pricing
No Hourly Billing. No Surprises.
Two tiers based on product complexity. Both include attorney-led analysis, independent claim review, and a verbal risk walkthrough.
Important: This budget FTO search is not a formal legal opinion and does not guarantee non-infringement. It is limited to the specific product features reviewed, patents identified during the search, and publicly available information at the time of analysis. Foreign patents, future claim amendments, and detailed litigation analysis are not included unless separately agreed.
